Frequently Asked Questions
General Knowledge
If you have questions about the app and its functionality, please contact tech support at: bizint-help@oddball.io
Access to BIZINT is available to any US government military servicemember, civilian, contractor, or partner nation member. You must use an official government email address to request an account.
Account approvals are processed in 1–2 business days.
Once approved, you'll receive an email with a temporary password that must be reset within 24 hours. After resetting, you'll gain access to the application.
BIZINT is a map-based application that displays the capacity of the commodities and services available in the commercial market. BIZINT uses modern mapping tools to deliver and share snapshots of capacities in intuitive, DoD-based classifications. This information can inform bring-versus-buy decisions when planning exercises or contingency operations.
BIZINT users with write access can add and update vendor information to ensure business intelligence is accurate and up to date. If you'd like to be granted write access, we require a brief training session that can be scheduled by bizint-help@oddball.io. Additionally, BIZINT syncs directly with FPDS-NG and SAM.gov to ensure even more reliable, relevant, and current information.
BIZINT is available on the web and can also be downloaded through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Certain features may be slightly different or entirely unavailable across platforms.
Logging In
You may reset your password at any time via the login screen. If you need any other information changed, please contact us at bizint-help@oddball.io.
You can log in with your email and password, or, when using a web browser, you can link your account to your CAC or PIV card for faster access.
Finding Commodities and Services
The landing screen of the BIZINT map shows the commodities and services available in the visible area. Use the search bar or drag the map to find your desired location.
Use the class-of-supply filters to load the commodities and services you need to search. Once filtered by class of supply, the map will populate with blue clusters and pins.
Blue clusters on the map represent multiple supply vendors.
Clicking a cluster will reveal pins that represent individual vendors. Clicking a pin will display a quick-view card with the vendor's name and relevant information. Selecting the quick-view card will take you to the vendor detail view.
BIZINT uses a three-level organizational hierarchy.
The highest level is the military class of supply (1–10, excluding class 5), along with additional categories for miscellaneous items and services.
Beneath these are the high-level or generic commodities or services (e.g., forklifts).
Finally, the third level is the individual inventory item (e.g., 10K variable-reach forklift).
The BIZINT team has identified a core list of commodities and services that align with our expeditionary and contingency framework. We may not display commodities or services outside this pared-down list. If you are consistently unable to find an appropriate commodity or service to map to, please reach out to us at bizint-help@oddball.io
Typing a country, region, city, or point of interest into the location search bar will display a list of suggestions in the dropdown menu based on a predictive type-ahead feature. Selecting one takes you there instantly. You can also scroll and zoom the map manually
In map view, clicking "list" displays all vendors in the visible area. Selecting a result takes you to the vendor detail view
Use the commodities and services dropdown to select or deselect individual items by their class of supply or service designation. Multiple items and classes can be selected at the same time. These selections appear as chips in the field once it is collapsed. Clicking the X on a chip removes it from your search.
The left-hand sidebar shows what is available in the visible area along with the known capacity. When you change the visible area or apply filters, the sidebar updates accordingly. Selecting "Download Market Intelligence" generates a CSV file of all commodities and services in the visible area. On a desktop device, the file is downloaded directly, while on a mobile device it can also be shared in various ways.
Vendors
Vendor profiles can be accessed from the map, the list, or the "Vendor" menu item. New vendors can be added to BIZINT through the "Add a Vendor" menu item. On the Vendor Search page, the search field provides type-ahead results based on spelling. This feature searches by name only. Clicking a vendor's name takes you to the vendor detail view.
The clipboard icon indicates that the vendor was entered without any known commodities or services. These vendors will be displayed in the map view.
If you have "write" access in the application, a pencil icon appears in the top right corner of the vendor detail view. Clicking the pencil allows you to edit the vendor’s details. If you do not have "write" access, the pencil does not appear. Obtaining "write" access requires additional training, which can be scheduled by contacting us directly.

Vendors can be added in BIZINT without an associated commodity or service. If known, they can be added using the “+ Add a Commodity/Service” button. These items can be added to a vendor profile without a known capacity or available amount.
Step 1: Click the “Add a Commodity/Service” button. This opens the Add Commodity/Service Wizard.
Step 2: Use the classes of supply or the search field to find the specific commodity or service you need. The search field uses type-ahead to narrow results.
Step 3: Select the commodity or service you want to add to continue to Step 2.
Step 4: Add a photo specific to the commodity or service. If the item has a sub-item that further defines what you are capturing, select the appropriate choice from the dropdown menu.
Step 5: If the capacity is known, indicate how much of the item is available and, if applicable, the vendor’s lead time for delivery.
Step 6: Many items request specific information to complement the chosen commodity or service. Notes can also be used to provide additional information not captured in the fields, such as serial numbers.
Step 7: Review the information you entered for accuracy.
Step 8: Select “Add Commodity/Service” to add it to the vendor’s profile.
This process can be repeated for any commodities or services the vendor provides.
Note: Changes are not saved automatically. You must save the overall vendor profile to capture all updates. If you exit without saving, the information you added will not persist.
Click on any commodity/service to view the answers provided when a user first added the item. This information can be edited by clicking the edit button. See "How do I add a commodity/service?" for answers to what options you can edit for a commodity/service.
To edit an item directly or update the verification date automatically, click on the three dots quick menu located across from the name of the commodity/service.
Vendors are sourced by professional market researchers and confirmed by users. There is no codified cross-service vetting process in place.
Many vendors in BIZINT are approved to work with the US Government through an active SAM.gov status. These vendors are identified in the application via a SAM badge. A blue badge indicates an active SAM status, while a gray badge indicates that the status has lapsed. Vendors whose SAM status expired more than five years ago without renewal do not display a SAM badge.

Contracts
Contract data in BIZINT can be found in a location-based list anywhere on the map. Alternately, a complete and filterable list can be found on a dedicated Contracts page.
BIZINT syncs directly with FPDS-NG and SAM.gov on a regular cadence.
BIZINT is a planning tool, not a contracting tool. Contracts cannot be created directly in BIZINT, but the information in the application can greatly support your planning and requirements-gathering processes.
